• Start A Toilet Paper Roll Garden With Your Child

    First, start collecting some rolls! You will want to collect a good amount; you will be sowing one seed per roll. 

    Cut 1/4” wide strips along one end of the roll, and then fold them down so that they overlap. This creates a bottom to hold the soil. Fill the tubes with pre-moistened soil and pack it down, leaving about a half inch at the top.  

    You can check the sides of the roll for dryness, and keep the soil moist. 

    Once the seeds germinate, which is a super exciting occasion, wait 2-4 weeks and then transplant them to larger containers. The best part is that you don’t have to remove the toilet roll or touch any delicate seedling roots. Just put the entire thing into a larger container of soil, and the toilet roll will breakdown into the soil and be overcome by little plant roots in no time.
