The syndrome is when cysts develop in a woman's ovaries that prevent her from regularly releasing eggs, this in turn raises levels of male hormones, ‘androgens'. High androgens levels in a women will eventually create fertility problems and excessive hair growth. There are no cures except to control it through hormone therapy.
